Blog Aid

I have been back from vacation for just over a week, and already I want I day off. I just want a day to tend to things around the house, sleep in, and maybe have an extra snuggle with my son. I missed him. I miss him all day while I am away from him. He is my Light.

Uli recently started asking to listen to 'OmNamaShivaya' in the car. He loves Krishna Das... and I love that he loves it. My boy (heart swells)...

My website may come down tomorrow (not this blog). I am seriously contemplating moving my website to be this blog, much like another blog I read, but I am not sure I have the energy to make it fancy like hers... I wish I could magically get what's in my brain into this blog without having to invest some time into learning another skill. We'll see what happens, I'll let y'all know what transpires.

I took a bath with My Oochie tonight. He made sure that I was just as clean as he was, and dumped water all over me and wiped my face off (oh the raccoon rings under my eyes...). I am so proud of my careful, considerate boy. He even made sure to kiss my back 3 times to make it feel better before I put him to bed.

Love that boy...

Let it go...

I have been spending a lot of time working, and not enough time for myself and my family. I have a lot of anxiety about work. Luckily, I have a super supportive boss, and I am now feeling a little more content and relaxed after a call from her to prop me back up. Whew...

I woke up grumpy and didn't even hug my child this morning. That's the stress I am processing for work. Take note, that won't happen when he wakes from his nap in T minus 10 seconds...

These pictures make me very happy.

And of course funky mama-socks with flood pants for perspective.

LaLa came to town...

I am now another year older, and I have the gray hairs to prove it, as my mother so kindly laughed at. I can hear it now, another year into this, and she's going to start harassing me to color my hair. Ah... growing up with a hair dresser as your mother...

All in all, it was a lovely birthday: my mother flew in to celebrate with me and to ooze all over The Ooch. I think she left pretty satisfied. It's amazing to me how strong their bond remains - he just loves her so much, and they picked right up as if she had never left. It's beautiful.

So, the weekend was packed full of fun and love. Mom and I went shopping for 'new' home items at this fantastic store I discovered in Sterling, MA, called 'Oh My Gosh!' Its a funky antique-y, found item store, and it was tough to get out of there in two hours. A lovely new-to-me apron came home with me, along with some old canning jars, and a stack of vintage hankies. Happiness.

We went to the New England Aquarium, which despite the crowd, was quite a hit with everyone. Uli is still talking about it, which is pretty good for my 2.5 year old...

We ended the weekend with a trip to the ER - well, I say 'we,' but it was Brian, and I didn't go with him, Rob did. Brian almost successfully removed his ring finger while washing dishes. They sent him home all super-glued up. $50 not well spent.

Anyway... projects are coming, I can feel it. I have been so tired at night that I haven't been able to do more than bake and then veg in my chair wine in one hand, crochet hook in the other. Not much to show for it - the bread gets eaten quickly and the baby blanket is slow going... Thank goodness Tess's babe isn't due until July!

Love to all - I hope to post some pics later this week...

George's House

We went to the Boston Children's Museum yesterday to see the Curious George exhibit. When I told Uli about it, the answer I got was 'Go to George's House?' Why yes, Baby. Let's go to George's House.
It was fun. There were a lot of people with whom I don't share parenting styles. We ate some snacks and all came home and took a 2 hour nap. Good times.
